Footnotes1 This is one of four equal payments (OC B/262–65) made in settlement of the invoice for 240 Marks sent to Schenker by Gustav Rapp & Co. on March 9, 1920 (see OC B/260 and OC B/261); the invoice refers to the photography of the autograph manuscript of Beethoven's Piano Sonata in A, Op. 101 (see OC B/267). Sending of the payments is recorded in Schenker's diary at OJ 3/1, p. 2222, March 19, 1920: "Lie-Liechen gibt viermal 60 Mark = 189 mit Porto 190 Kronen nach Frankfurt auf." ("Lie-Liechen sends four times 60 Marks = 189 with postage 190 Kronen to Frankfurt.") |
