Footnotes1 As probably the very first reference in Schenker's hand to Jeanette Kornfeld ‒ the woman with whom he would spend the rest of his life from 1910, and marry in 1919 ‒ this entry is of historic importance. The juxtaposition of her name with "Kp." ("Counterpoint") (to the right and half a line lower) could be taken to imply not just work by Schenker on Kontrapunkt while on vacation, but that Jeanette might be going to help (or was helping) him with it by making fair copies of drafts. |
