— A stroll along the promenades. — Shopping; in the lower cemetery, we look at Weilen’s gravestone. — From Baumgarten (letter): thanks for the greetings. — {3921} While Lie-Liechen is at work on a border (50–60 meters!?!), I read the Book of Esther aloud: what a connection of motives! Mordecai 1 is the founder of the festival of Purim; 2 the religion has taken possession of this foundation, which continues to live in it for the well-being of the writing of history, of poetry, of the continuity of the Jews. — After teatime, the Evianweg under a cloudy sky – [return by] road. — A finch picks at the cake that is sitting on the garden table! —© Translation William Drabkin. |
