[Movements 2 and 3 of the Brahms Sonata. Construction of the third [movement] similar to that of the Allegretto of the “Moonlight” Sonata, in which only after the key of the dominant [has been sounded] does the main key itself enter.] Memory of Brahms‘s performance of this piece; the first lukewarm applause came just after {19} the Allegretto! The Andante was a flop.
