Footnotes1 The only other reference in Kahn’s lesson notes for 1912/13 to a Gavotte or a Suite is that for June 7, 1913 “Dm Gavotte”. In her 1913/14 notes there are only, on October 11, “Bach Dm Gavotte,” and on March 21, 1914 “Gavotte.” Since J. S. Bach’s French Suite in D minor has no gavotte whereas his English Suite in D minor has a pair of them, it is likely that reference here, and on June 7, October 11, and March 21, 1914, is to the English Suite No 6 in D minor, BWV 811. |
