¹ Elias’s Monday lesson since October 6 has usually been dedicated to theory (thoroughbass and chorale), her Wednesday and Saturday lessons to piano repertory. It is likely, therefore, that these keys refer to Herman Roth, ed., 25 Geistliche Lieder (aus dem Schemellischen Gesangbuch) für eine Singstimme und basso continuo (Leipzig: C. F. Peters, [n.d.]), a copy of which, with annotations in Schenker's hand, is preserved at OJ 25/1. The chorales in E minor are Nos 21 "Ach, daß nicht die letzte Stunde" (BWV 439) and 23 "Meines Lebens letzte Zeit" (BWV 488); those in C minor are Nos. 2 "Ich steh an deiner Krippen hier" (BWV 469), 3 "Selig! wer an Jesum denkt" (BWV 498), and 14 "Ich laß dich nicht" (BWV 467).
