Footnotes1 Schenker’s diary for this day reports: “After Miss Bloch's lesson, Lemberger senior appears, in order to find out from me whether Felix [Hupka] will be able to perform in public again next year. I confirm this but alert him to the dangers that could arise for him, in connection with me as a teacher in Vienna.” – The Schenkers departed the next day for Karersee, Tyrol, but cut short their vacation on August 3 on account of the outbreak of war. |
