1 Probably refers to Schenker’s Kontrapunkt . Schenker’s remark implies that König progressed past the first volume into materials of the second volume (subtitled Drei- und Mehrstimmiger Satz; Übergänge zum Freien Satz (Three- and More-voiced Counterpoint; Bridges to Free Composition). Schenker was teaching from his own unpublished materials for vol. II/2 of his series Neue Musikalische Theorien und Phantasien (eventually pubd Vienna: Universal Edition, 1922).
