One of Austria's most celebrated actors around the turn of the 19th century, who worked at the Theater an der Wien 1874-96, at the Carlstheater 1896/97, and at the Deutsches Volkstheater in Vienna 1898-1900. He was primarily a comic actor, and worked also in operetta. He retired from the stage in 1914.
