Sehr verehrter Herr Doktor! 1

Mit Sehnsucht warte ich auf op. 111. – Allerdings ist es ja jetzt mit den Druckereien pp. schlecht bestellt.

Hier heisst es noch immer: lerne leiden ohne zu klagen, und die Hoffnungen auf Wien müssen immer weiter hinausgeschoben werden. Vielleicht kann ich Ihnen bald Veränderungen in meiner äusseren Lage mitteilen – in Bezug auf Wiederaufnahme der Mitarbeit in der Kreuz-Zeitung u.s.w.

Highly revered Dr. [Schenker,] 1

I await Op. 111 with great longing. – However now it is really difficult to order things through the printing houses by proxy.

Here it is still the same: learn to suffer without complaining, and hopes of coming to Vienna have to be further postponed. Perhaps I will soon be able to tell you about changes in my external situation – with regard to resumption of work at the Kreuz-Zeitung etc.

1 Receipt of this field postcard is recorded in Schenker's diary at OJ 2/1, p. 141, February 24, 1916: "Dahms (K.) fragt nach op. 111 u. klagt darüber, daß seine Reise nach Wien doch noch hinausgeschoben werden muss." ("Dahms (postcard) asks after Op. 111, and complains that his trip to Vienna must once again be put off.").
