1 Schenker was at this time trying urgently to obtain assurance from Baron Alphons Rothschild (whose private secretary Rettich was) of financial support in the form of the printing costs of Kontrapunkt I. Schenker evidently kept his Rothschild correspondence in some sort of folder (for which the usual term would have been Mappe, rather than Beilage, as used here).
