1 Die Juden: Lessing's second comedy, written in Berlin in 1749 and published in the fourth volume of his Schrifften (Berlin: Voß, 1754), whose themes are religious tolerance and humanity.
2 Presumably Briefe, die neueste Literatur betreffend, ed. Franz Violet (Bielefeld, Leipzig: Velhagen & Klasing 1913). Together with Friedrich Nicolai, Lessing published the eponymous weekly magazine in Berlin between 1759 and 1766.
3 The Rettungen des Horaz appeared in the third volume of Lessing's Schrifften (Berlin: Voß, 1754). In it the author defends Horace against, among other things, the accusation of sexual excess.
