1 A facsimile edition of the autograph manuscript of the "Appassionata" Sonata, Op. 57 had recently been issued (Paris: Edition d'Art H. Piazza, [1927]). Schenker has been making changes to his individual edition of the sonata in the light of this, not charging UE for his work.

2 The national election on April 24, 1927 was the third national election in the history of the Republic of Austria. The greatest number of votes and mandates were won by a coalition of the Christian Socialists and various German-nationalist groupings, under Chancellor Ignaz Seipel. The second strongest group were the Social Democratic Worker's Party.
