2 According to the radio listings in the Neue freie Presse, Mozart’s Requiem, performed in memory of Engelbert Dollfuß and the victims of the February Uprising (1934), was broadcast from the Cathedral of St. Stephen. The cathedral’s music director, Ferdinand Habel, conducted the choral society Dreizehnlinden and the Vienna Symphony Orchestra; the soloists were Erika Rokyta (soprano), Emilie Rutschka (alto), Hermann Gallos (tenor), and Josef Manowarda (bass).
