Footnotes

1 Perhaps Czerny’s 40 tägliche Studien, Op. 337, or 100 leichte Übungstücke, Op. 792, or one of his many other technical exercise study volumes. — This is the only lesson to Jenny Kornfeld/Jeanette Schenker recorded in this lessonbook. Two previous lessons are recorded, on January 16 and October 15, 1912; no lessons are recorded in later lessonbooks. (All three are marked out by the name-form, “Lie-Lie,” by contrast with the strict last-name form for all other pupils, however close to Schenker.) One wonders whether lessons, regular or irregular, continued unrecorded, or whether the initiative was abandoned.
