German composer and music critic.

Marschalk studied at the Berlin Hochschule für Musik, and became a singing teacher. From 1894 to 1933, he was the musical critic for the Vossische Zeitung, and a friend of Gustav Mahler and Richard Strauss. In addition, he was director of the music publishing house Dreililien Verlag, the direction of which was handed over to Richard Birnbach in 1934.

There is no known correspondence between Marschalk and Schenker.
