"Antwort von Herrn Koch aus Baden-Baden, Zusicherung seiner Auskunft für Ende des
Monats, sobald er nachhaus zurückgekehrt
sein wird. Sollte der Besitzer der Schätze nicht wissen, was er besitzt, oder soll er
sich etwa für die Zeit seiner Ferien alles
Ueberflüssige vom Leibe halten?" ("Reply from Mr Koch in Baden Baden, his assurance of
information at the end of the month once he has returned home. Should the owner of the
treasures not know what he owns, or should he keep all uncalled-for business at arm's
length while on holiday?")
2 Schenker's diary, at OJ 1/13, p. 430, September 28, 1913 records: "Brief an
Koch wegen der Autographe." ("Letter to Koch about the autograph manuscripts.") Schenker's
side of the correspondence twith Koch is not known to survive.
