Hoffentlich 1 haben Sie meinen Wertbrief vom 28. IX 2 richtig erhalten. Es ist mir nun doch nicht gelungen, heute von hier fortzukommen und fahre ich nun am Mittwoch[.] {2} Dadurch gewinne ich hier drei Tagen während ich nur eine Stunde bei Ihnen versäume.

Ich freue mich sehr darauf, am Donnerstag um halb fünf zu Ihnen zu kommen. 3

1 Receipt of this letter is recorded in Schenker's diary at OJ 3/8, p. 2878, October 13, 1925: "Von Hoboken (Br.): kommt erst Donnerstag." ("From Hoboken (letter): is not coming until Thursday.").

2 = OJ 11/54, [4], September 28, 1925.

3 Thursday was October 15, which is confirmed by Schenker’s lessonbook 1925/26 as Hoboken's first lesson. (The entry reads: “Program [of work]: voice-leading, Urlinie, piano; right away, something about the Urlinie.")
