philharmonisches Konzert ist: kämen
Sie also würde ich Sie nicht sehen können. Sie verzeihen mir also den Egoismus (dass ich
nämlich von Ihrem Besuche auch etwas für mich in Anspruch nehmen möchte) und finden es
begreiflich, wenn ich Sie bitte Ihren Besuch auf nächsten Sonntag zu verschieben! Bis dahin

Dear revered Master,

It has just occurred to me that you may have overlooked that tomorrow, Sunday, there is a Philharmonic concert. If you went to it, then I would not see
you. You will forgive my egoism (that, namely, I wish to take advantage of your visit for my
own sake) and find it plausible that I ask you to postpone your visit until the following
Sunday! By then

spring will perhaps also have arrived. We most certainly hope to see
you.
