Sehr geehrter Herr!

Mit herzlichen Grüssen
Ihr ergebener

Dear Sir,

Since it appears desirable to have several copies of the piano reduction made immediately, in order to facilitate its being studied in good time at the local court theater, I must alas ask you to return to me the piano reduction of my Ghismonda promptly upon receipt of this letter. I am genuinely sorry not to be able to leave the manuscript with you longer, but I feel sure you will appreciate the reasons. 1

With cordial greetings,
Your devoted
