Sehr geehrter Herr Direktor! 1

Dear Director, 1

Since as of today no copy of Ornamentation has yet reached me, I assume that the printers are still somewhat in arrears with it. It is such a shame about the last vestiges of the holidays, which the majority of the gentlemen passed on to you in my letter of the day before yesterday 2 could very well (at their leisure) dedicate to reading. As you know, the season starts as early as September in Germany, hence [so does] work and lecturing for the gentlemen.

With kind regards
