— Work on the Seventh [for Free Composition ]. — Weisse from 10:30 to 11:15: I show him the Urlinie pages! $100 1 will be sent from Mannes (from the [school’s] publicity account); we arrange to meet for afternoon snack. — In the afternoon, a heavy, long, relentless thunderstorm! — Dictation. — Games of solitaire. — The entire day at home.

1 The symbol before "100" is illegible, but the sum of $100 is corroborated by later diary entries: on June 3, 1932, Schenker records receiving a check from Clara Mannes for the equivalent amount in Austrian currency, 706 shillings; and on June 9 he records writing to Mrs. Mannes to thank her for the $100.
