¹ Schenker's diary for Tuesday February 9 records: "Weisse’s relationship to Prof. Adler is increasingly coming to a head, as it could have not been expected to do otherwise; and the former is allowing it to come to a breach without further ado. To Adler’s invitation to begin [the seminar] on Friday with a presentation of his paper, Weisse replied evasively, only to give the professor the opportunity of first taking in the poison intended for him in written form. The effect of the injection will then determine whether Weisse will, or will not, himself present his work to inadequate ears." Tuesday was a regular lesson day for Weisse.
