Footnotes1 There is no Nocturne in D minor (Dmoll). Most likely, that in Bę minor (Bmoll), Op. 9, No. 1 is intended, since Schenker taught the latter several times. 2 Schenker prepared a facsimile edition of this sonata during the 1920/21 saison. According to his diary, he dictated the commentary between 12 November and 6 December 1920. 3 Either the Toccata and Fugue in D minor for Organ, BWV 565, of which transcriptions for piano existed by Tausig, Busoni, Reger, and others; or the first two movements of the Toccata in D minor for harpsichord, BWV 913. 4 In the notes for Elias's lessons, Elias twice plays "for Miss Kahn": Beethoven Op. 31 No. 3 and Brahms Waltz No. 4; and after the latter there appears the Toccata in D minor, BWV 913. |
