Dean of the House of Fine Arts (Casa de las Bellas Artas) in Santiago, Chile, who also taught “analysis, theory, and history” at the Santiago Conservatory of Music.

Jeanette Schenker met Domingo de la Cruz briefly on July 30, 1936 and delivered to him a Universal Edition prospectus – most likely of her husband's Der freie Satz – saying “I am bringing you, something – a new theory!!” She arranged to send a package of Schenker’s work to him via the Friedemann Music Shop in Santiago. On leaving the Dean, she records: “I repeat a few times that the dissemination of the theory is all that matters to me” (travel diary, July 30, 1936). This was an important step in her campaign to bring her husband’s work to Chile.
