    Having made an investment in a property (Arzberg) purchased by Moriz Schenker, Heinrich has got cold feet and has asked to withdraw his share of the asset. Moriz explains the situation and tries to reassure Heinrich, while at the same time outlining steps whereby he could eventually pay Heinrich back. He questions Heinrich's pessimism, and points out that Heinrich is at the peak of his creative powers.
