1 Sending of this telegram is recorded in Schenker's diary at OJ 1/5, p. 25, November 3, 1906: " Zwei Telegr. von Cotta wegen Bg. 28, 29 u. Titelbogen. Alles abgeschickt. Glückliche Vollendung." ("Two telegrams from Cotta concerning gatherings 28 and 29 and the prelims gathering. Everything sent off. Happy outcome."). CA 52 is Schenker's reply to one. The telegram is printed at the Stuttgart office, containing Schenker's message. The two telegrams from Cotta appear not to have survived.

2 According to the postscript to CA 49, October 26, 1906, Schenker sent the page-proofs of gathering 28 to Cotta on that day, along with those of gathering 29 and the manuscript of the Table of Contents. See also Schenker's telegram of the next day (see CA 53, November 4) dispatching the duplicate of gathering 28.
