1 Contents of this postcard are recorded in Schenker's diary at OJ 4/3, p. 3386, October 1, 1929: "Von Oppel (Br.): Antwort der U. E. Band I sei vergriffen, der Zeitpunkt der II. Auflage werde ihm bekannt gegeben werden; dankt für das Hammerbild." ("From Oppel (letter): answer from UE: vol. I is out of print, they will let him know the date of the 2nd edition; thanks for the Hammer picture."). The letter from Oppel to Schenker is dated September 30, 1929 (OJ 13/10): it enclosed UE's postcard without stating its contents.
