1 Receipt of this letter is recorded in Schenker's diary at OJ 2/11, p. 903, June 17, 1918: "Von Dahms zum 50. Geburtstag Aufsatz in der „Konservativen Monatschrift.“ ("From Dahms for my 50th birthday, article in the Konservative Monatschrift.") Schenker's birthday fell on June 19. The article, not mentioned, but presumably enclosed, was "Heinrich Schenker zu seinem 50. Geburtstag am 19. Juni 1918," Konservative Monatsschrift, June 1918, a clipping of which is preserved in Schenker's scrapbook as OC 2/p. 54.
