Lieber verehrter Meister!

Gruss Ihr stets

Dear, revered Master,

How 1 have you endured these horrid days and weeks of [?reassessment of all words]? I have moved here with my wife. I am situated close to Vrieslander in a peaceful and lovely house, and look forward to finally beginning my work. Because of this, and because I am in the countryside, I can once again become healthy. For external appearances were bad under the accursed Hohenzollern 2 and are just the same under the riff-raff of His Majesty.

For the present kindest regards,
Your ever- {verso} respectful and thankful,
