Dear revered friend, 1

From my second meeting with Hoboken, which will be followed by a third on Sunday, I send you today only the confidential news, in brief, that his library in Vienna is supposed to be set up in a public building – though probably not accessible to everyone.

With best greetings,
Your faithfully devoted

Footnotes

1 Receipt of this postcard is recorded in Schenker’s diary for August 19, 1933: “Von Deutsch (K.): v. H. plant die Aufstellung seiner Sammlung in Wien, allerdings nicht frei zugänglich. Immerhin ein Lichtstrahl, hoffentlich Ankündigung eines besseren Herbstes u. Winters als die letzten gewesen sind.” (“From Deutsch (postcard): Hoboken is planning to set up his collection in Vienna, where at any rate it will not be accessible to everyone. Nonetheless, a ray of light, which I hope will be the harbinger of a better autumn and winter than the last ones have been.”).
