1 The date on which Salzer’s visit took place is recorded in Jeannette Schenker’s hand on the recto side of the postcard as November 7, 1938, which fell on a Monday. This undated postcard was probably sent on November 5, 1938 ("5" being visible in the partially obscured postmark).
