Ich komme erst heute dazu, Deine Zeilen vom 12. ds. 2 zu beantworten. Ich habe Dir durch die Oesterreichische Länderbank bei deren Filiale in Innsbruck den Betrag von: K. 7500.– (siebentausendfünfhundert) angewiesen und veranlasst, dass dieser Betrag Dir gegen Legitimierung durch Pass und Reisebewilligung ausbezahlt werde. Du hast daher nichts anderes zu tun, als bei der Oesterr. Länderbank in Innsbruck das Geld zu beheben. 3 Ich hoffe, dass es Dir und Deiner lieben Frau 4 gut geht und wünsche Euch beste Erholung. Only today am I getting round to answering your letter of the 12th of the month. 2 I have remitted the sum of 7,500 Kronen (seven thousand five hundred) to you via the Austrian Provincial Bank’s branch in Innsbruck and arranged for this sum to be paid out to you on presentation of your passport and travel permission documents. You need do nothing more than withdraw the money at the Austrian Provincial Bank in Innsbruck. 3 I hope that you and your dear wife 1 are well and wish you the best of recreation. Footnotes1 Receipt of this letter is recorded in Heinrich’s diary for July 28, 1920: “Von Mozio (Br.): geschäftsmäßig: habe 7500 Kronen durch die Länderbank geschickt, Wilhelm gehe es schlecht.” (“From Mozio (letter): on business: 7,500 Kronen via the Provincial Bank sent, Wilhelm is doing badly.”). 2 Writing of this letter is recorded in Heinrich’s diary for July 11, 1920: “An Mozio (Br.): kündige Brünauers Betrag an u. ersuche, per Bank Innsbruck diesen mit dem der Edition hierher zu schicken; wie es Wilhelm gehe.” (“To Mozio (letter): inform him about the sum Brünauer will send and ask him to send the sum with that of the Edition here via Bank Innsbruck; how Wilhelm is doing.”). 3 Pickup of the money is recorded in Heinrich’s diary for August 2, 1920: “Nach Innsbruck, um Geld bei der Bank zu beheben.” (“To Innsbruck, to withdraw money from the bank.”). 4 This is the first time in the surviving correspondence that Moriz has recognized the presence of Jeanette Schenker (Kornfeld): Heinrich and Jeanette were, after nine years of legal battles, finally married on November 10, 1919. |
