Footnotes
1 Receipt
of this letter is recorded in Heinrich’s diary for August 9, 1920: “Von Mozio (Br.):
sendet die erbetenen 2000 Kronen, dem lieben Wilhelm gehe es schlecht.” (“From Mozio
(letter): is sending the requested 2,000 Kronen, dear Wilhelm is doing
poorly.”).
2 Writing of this
non-surviving postcard is recorded in Heinrich’s diary for August 2, 1920, the same day on
which he withdrew 7,500 Kronen from the Innsbruck branch of the Austrian Provincial Bank:
“An Mozio (Karte): erbitte 2200 u. kündige mit Rückgabe des Schuldscheines die
Rückforderung der 10000 Kronen an.” (“To Mozio (postcard): request 2,200 [Kronen] and signal through the return of the debt
note the demand to return the 10,000 Kronen.”).
3 Wilczyk:
the Polish form of Wilhelm.
