Footnotes1 The Weinberger company had moved from its Kohlmarkt 8 address to larger premises at Maximilianstraße at the turn of the century, and this became the address also of Universal Edition from its founding in 1901, the two companies sharing the telephone number 3364. 2 i.e. of Schenker's Syrian Dances , in the orchestrated version by Arnold Schoenberg. 3 Emil Hertzka's distinctive signature on this letter and OJ 15/12, [6] suggests that he was working for the Weinberger company before he joined Universal Edition in 1907. |
