Sehr verehrter Herr! 1

In dankbarer Erinnerung an Ihre wirkliche Theilname im Vorjahre erlaube ich mir anbei mein neues von Busoni so hoch geschätztes Werk 2 Ihnen zu übersenden. Busoni hat es empfohlen an den Verlag. Vielleicht entspreche ich Ihrem Interesse, wenn ich Ihnen zugleich mittheile, dass H. Simrock in Berlin ein harmloses Werkchen 3 von mir erworben hat, trotzdem ich ohne jede Empfehlung an ihn herangetreten bin! Nun habe ich Muth.

In grateful recollection of your very real cooperation during the past year, I take the liberty of sending you, enclosed, the new work of mine 2 that is so highly prized by Busoni. Busoni has recommended it to the publisher. Perhaps you may be interested if I at the same time tell you that Mr. Simrock in Berlin has acquired a harmless little work 3 of mine despite my having approached him without any recommendation! Now I have courage.
