ADELAIDE SOUTH AUSTRALIA 5001 AUSTRALIE [postmark:] || 400 02 ÚSTí NAD LABEM | 5.5.88 ‒ 0 | * 3 * || Geehrter Herr Professor, 1 bestätige hiermit den Empfang ihres Briefes, 2 muss ja sagen, dass er mich sehr überrascht hat. Aber sie sind an die richtige Adresse gekommen, Jeanette Kornfeld war meine Grossmutter. Da ich jetzt auf 14 Tage Urlaub fahre, beantworte ich ihren Brief erst nach Rückkehr, das ist Ende Mai, anfang Juni, da ich ja die alten Briefe nachsehen muss und hoffe, das ich was finde, was sie interessiert und sie gebrauchen könnten.

But you have reached the right address: Jeanette Kornfeld was my grandmother. Since I am now about to set off on two weeks' holiday, I will not answer your letter until my return, which will be the end of May or the beginning of June, because I really must look again through the old letters [in my possession] and hope that I will find something of interest to you and that you could use. For now with greetings, [signed:] T. Kornfeld [written sideways in left margin:] Ústí nad Labem, May 5, 1988
