Verehrte Herrschaften

Dear Friends,

Probably you are now safely back from Holland. I departed suffering a thousand pains, when on the day before, his birthday, 1 the grave-slab had been set in place and all the many roses, which this day always used to be brought to our home, on top of it.

Here I have found everything as I wished, even warm people, Jews ‒ Perhaps you will come by sometime ‒ it would be very, very sweet. I am reading ‒ Schenker.

Most cordial greetings to you from
Your devoted
