  • Sprich 'was Gescheites oder ‒ sauf''!“
  • ⇧ „Nicht Jedem gelingt was G'scheites,
  • Doch Niemand zu essen gereut es,
  • Drum ist mir, bis du den Mund
  • Dir in Freude gegessen hast ‒ wund!

und Lie Lie (eigenkünstig):

  • ⇧ Müßte' immer saufen,
  • Der Gescheites nicht weiß,
  • Blieb für den Klugen,
  • Kein Tropfen am Eis!

⇧ Bei schönstem Wetter zogen wir die Strasse entlang bis nach Gomagoi, 1 wo wir soeben getafelt u. obigen Ritt auf den Pegasus zurückgelegt haben

  • ⇧ I just read the following little maxim:
  • "Don't open your mouth pointlessly:
  • Say something intelligent, or ‒ have a drink!"
  • ⇧ "Not everyone has something intelligent to say,
  • But no one regrets eating,
  • Therefore I shall feel hurt until you have
  • Eaten your fill in joy!
  • H.

and Lie Lie (all on her own):

  • ⇧ If someone who knew nothing intelligent
  • Always had to have to drink,
  • Then not a drop on the ice
  • Would remain for the clever one!

⇧ In the most beautiful weather, we walked along the road as far as Gomagoi, 1 where we just had lunch, and traveled the above-mentioned route on Pegasus.

1 Gomagoi: village (1,275m) 11km (6½ miles) north-northwest of Sulden, in the South Tyrol. It lies in the Trafoi Valley at the point where the Sulden Valley branches off to the south-southeast toward Sulden.
