Ein unpraktisches Unternehmen, das nur die Pietät betont, aber nicht den Nutzen des Autographs! Zu solchen Unternehmen findet man Behörden bereit, nicht aber zu einem wirklich nützlichen, wie es die Reproduktion anderer Autographe wäre, z. B. solcher von Beeth.-Sonaten, Chopin Etüden, u. s. w. 3 *

Letter from my sister, which leads me to hope that she might finally leave me in peace. *Letter from Dr. Steinitz, which prompts me to write to Dr. Margulies. 1 *Facsimile of the autograph manuscript of the Requiem 2 arrives. An impractical undertaking that underscores only piety, but not the utility of the autograph! One finds organizations prepared for such undertakings, but not for ones that would be really useful, as would be the case with reproductions of other autographs – for example, those of sonatas by Beethoven, or the Chopin etudes, and so on. 3 *
