1 Schenker’s diary for this day records: “Weisse too early for his lesson; an unattractive practice that must be corrected. What an undervaluation of the achievement of a teacher, and what an injustice against him who, unlike the businessman, unfortunately cannot increase his finances by means of multiplying his sales!”

2 Weisse had been a pupil of Moriz Violin until late spring 1913.
