The Franz-Josef train station, located at the Julius-Tandler-Platz in the 9th District of Vienna (Alsergrund), on the north side of the city center.
The Franz-Josef Railway was built to connect Vienna to Prague (via Gmünd) and to Eger [Cheb] (via Budweis [České Budějovice] and Pilsen [Plzeň]), both in Bohemia.
