Street spanning Vienna’s 18th and 19th districts, Währing and Döbling, from Gentzgasse at the south end to Krottenbachstraße at the north.
Jeanette Schenker rented a room in the Pension Dr. Scheidl, the landlady of which was Hans Scheidl’s widow, Amalie Scheidl, from late November 1925 (ten months after Heinrich’s death) to at least early November 1936 and quite possibly well into 1937. Her stay there thus spanned the six months in which she travelled to Chile and back. In her 1936 travel diary for that journey, she describes her room as “my lovely, quiet Biedermeier attic room (Mansarde) ... no running water, no central heating.”
