Dear revered Dr. [Schenker], 1

According to your last postcard, the accident does not seem to be serious. 2 But I wish you from the bottom of my heart a quick recovery. For your help, I thank you most sincerely. I explained to Tomay immediately, but Haas is not coming back to his office until Thursday; he seems to be abroad.

Footnotes

1 Receipt of this postcard is not recorded in Schenker's diary.

2 Schenker’s diary for September 12 records a letter to Deutsch about the Beethoven song Neue Liebe, neues Leben, which Jeanette wrote out from dictation; but the summary in the diary makes no mention of the accident or illness for which he was treated by his personal doctor, Paul Frühmann, for four days.
