Lieber verehrter Meister!

Dear, revered Master,

I 1 had to go to Berlin for a few days. Today I was with Siegfried Ochs and asked him immediately about the autograph to Op. 101 2 . He told me that he sold it to the jeweller Koch in Frankfurt am Main. I hasten to relay this information to you.

How are you and your wife? I hope you have procured enough firewood there. In Berlin, {recto} conditions are also very unpleasant.

With warmest greetings,
also from my wife,
Your ever-faithful
