OJ 12/24, [1] - Handwritten letter from Kromer to Schenker, dated April 9, 1931
|
© Transcription Ian Bent & Marko Deisinger, 2012 |
I have a big favor to ask of you! Might you be able to spare me half an hour one day in the next week? I have something I am concerned about ‒ that concerns not just me but the Archive, too. Perhaps Thursday afternoon would suit ‒ it is a holiday and I am free? Please [send] a brief answer to my home † address. © Translation Ian Bent, 2012 |

Footnotes1 Receipt of this letter is not recorded in Schenker's diary. The day proposed was Thursday April 16, 1931: Schenker "stayed at home all day" (OJ 4/4, p. 3607), but on that day he records "Von Kromer die Fotographie vom Haina-Stich." ("From Kroma the photograph of the Haina engraving.") ‒ a print of Mozart that had been under discussion for several days ‒ thus it is likely that Kromer called at Schenker's home. |
