Mai ⇧ 192⇧ 7 ⇧ Meine Lieben! 1 Sehr erstaunt bin ich über Euere heutige Depeche, 2 welche mir in dem Momente telefonisch gegeben wurde, in welchem ich beiliegende Belastungsaufgabe Fröhlich’s bekommen habe. 3 — Wie Du aus dem Schreiben F. ersehen ist kannst, ist ihm mein Brief vom 30. pts. erst am 3. dts. zugekommen. Der 1. Mai 4 und eine Nachlässigkeit bei der Post sind leider nichts neues. In Hinkunft bitte ich Dich, Geld derart abzuberufen, damit Du nicht durch irgendeine Verzögerung in Verlegenheit kommst. Ich hoffe, dass Ihr das Geld heute erhalten habt. Aus beil. Briefstück ist die Adresse u. Telefon Fröhlich zu ersehen, falls noch immer etwas nicht in Ordnung wäre. — In aller Eile zur Post. May 1, 4 and negligence on the part of the postal service, are sadly nothing new. In the future I ask you to request withdrawal of money in such a way that you do not fall into embarrassment through some kind of delay. I hope the money has reached you today. From the enclosed fragment of a letter, Fröhlich’s address and telephone number can be seen in case anything were ever to go awry again. Off to the post in great haste. Footnotes1 Receipt of this letter is recorded in Heinrich’s diary for May 6, 1927: “Von Mozio (Br.): Brief von Fröhlich beigelegt, aus dem hervorgeht, daß Mozio wirklich am 30. geschrieben.” (“From Mozio (letter): letter from Fröhlich enclosed, from which it emerges that Mozio actually wrote on the 30th.”). 2 Heinrich’s diary for May 5, 1927 records: “An Mozio (Telegramm): erbitte dringend Geld, bin in unbequemer Lage.” (“To Mozio (telegram): I ask him most urgently for money; I am in an uncomfortable position.”). 3 The debit memo is not preserved with this letter. 4 May 1 was International Labor Day, on which there would be no – or limited – postal service. |
