1 The date of this postcard is ambiguous. In the postmark, ”29. III.” is clear; the digits for year are either 31 or 34 (they are obscured by Schenker’s return address). None of the diary entries for late March between 1930 and 1934 records the writing of a postcard to Wilhelm, though the latter date is more likely (see footnote 3).

2 Wilhelm celebrated his 72nd birthday on March 12, 1934.

3 Schenker did write a letter in Wilhelm in April 15, 1934 (OJ 5/38, [87]); there are, however, no letters dating from April 1931.
