1 Schenker’s diary entry for September 5, 1934, records: “ Im Hotel schreiben wir vor Tisch Ansichtskarten an Weil, Rothberger, Wilhelm” (“In the hotel before lunch, we write picture postcards to Weil, Rothberger, and Wilhelm.”).

2 Heinrich and Jeanette were on their way from Böckstein to Vienna, arriving home the next day.
