Diese Mitteilung bestätigte mir nachdrücklich, wie recht ich hatte, Adler vor das Forum der Öffentlichkeit zu ziehen in op. 111 u. noch außerdem in dem Brief an Präsident Stern ein Zusammenarbeiten mit ihm abzulehnen. ² — Nach der Jause Kirche u. Friedhof besichtigt; jene weist viele altertümliche Spuren auf, denen näher nachzugehen ich leider nicht in der Lage bin, dieser dagegen sonderbarerweise nichts Bemerkenswertes an sich, sogar fehlen die in Tiroler Dorf-Friedhöfen sonst üblichen Vierzeiler oder sonstige Gedichte.

The motive: envy. The case of Adler's relationship with Prof. Wallaschek was just as nasty; the latter eventually disappeared without having achieved more than a yearly remuneration of 2,000 Kronen!
